.NET Software Engineer - Sign on Bonus - Fairfax. VA - Secret Clearance

As a contractor to the Federal Government, our client must comply with the federal mandate requiring our workforce be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 by January 4, 2022, with only very limited exceptions for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related field or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

 Clearance Requirements:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications:

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 for New Hires Only

Key Responsibilities:

  • This person will participate in a fast-paced, Agile development environment to design, develop, and deliver web applications and software for new and existing applications. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in our Agile Software Development (Scrum and Kanban) process

  • Evaluating and implementing enhancements and modifications to existing software.

  • Design and development of software solutions for diverse user groups, including work on subsystems all the way through entire applications

  • Investigating and evaluating cutting-edge technologies for inclusion into our software solutions—we give our development teams broad latitude in technology used and welcome innovation.

  • Take ownership for your areas of responsibility and lend a hand to the entire team as needed.

  • Understanding the impact of security and performance considerations on deployed software.

  • Building prototypes and production software applications focused on the user experience.

  • Shaping the technological approach and overall architecture of our systems spanning multiple applications and networks.

 

The successful .NET Software Engineer must have the following requirements:

  • The .NET Software Engineer position requires a Bachelors's degree in a specialized area or equivalent field and 1 - 3 years of related experience.

  • Some experience in web application development using C# and ASP.NET MVC

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

The .NET Software Engineer ideally should possess some of the following skills:

  • Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks (e.g., NHibernate)

  • Javascript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, JQuery, etc.

  • Familiarity with responsive web design, HTML5 and CSS3

  • Automated testing tools and frameworks

  • Git or other source control tools

  • Search technologies like Lucene, Solr or ElasticSearch

  • NoSQL databases, e.g., MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra

  • Agile development certification (CSM, PMI-ACP, CSD, etc.)

Our ideal .NET Software Engineer has:

  • 2 or more years experience delivering web-based enterprise applications using C# and .NET

  • An active Secret Clearance
